Can be robust, but also prone to breakage.

Easy to assemble.  Not suitable for heavy flower pots or many books.  The structure of the shelves does not detract from the items on the shelf.  In expensive, functional and nice looking white shelving.

Mainstay products have been consistently excellent. This bookcase should receive the "Genius Award." It's so easy and simple to put together. It holds about 20 pounds per shelf which is great for holding my extra folders and books. It looks good too.

Very Happy with This Purchase

These are a breeze to assemble.  The legs /supports are made of plastic, so that lends to keeping items on the lighter side.  However, they’re also hollow, so I plan on adding some additional supports between the shelves for additional stability.  I also like that I can assemble the unit using only 3 of the shelves if I want the unit to be shorter.  Definitely happy with this purchase!

Very simple to ensemble. Plastic dowels were surprising..have bough another of these but had wooden dowels. So far. So good. Hold lots of stuff. I would just not put real heavy stuff on this shelf. But great for the price. Perfect fit in my closet of extra storage

This is by far the best piece of furniture I’ve ever put together. It took me literally less than 15 minutes. It’s sturdy. It’s a beautiful piece in my living room. I highly recommend this.

Read the directions before putting it together and it’s super helpful. This is a great shelf for light items. I use it to display toys for my kids. Not a sturdy shelf, but it is a great value and looks nice. The white bas don’t necessarily match the board perfectly.

Shelves need to be somewhat sturdy, these are not.  I needed something cheap and in a hurry, neither of which is a good recipe for a success.  That played out here as expected and I got what I paid for.  Don't make my mistake, buy something better.
