You get what you pay for. For the price, it's a great bookshelf. I needed a bigger one than what we had for all my kids books and didn't want to spend a fortune so this is what I got. It works exactly as intended and was easy to put together. The instructions for assembly were easy to follow.

Great for what I needed for kids books

I really love this shelf, it surprised me of how strong and sturdy it is because I got it on sale so I wasn't expecting such a strong quality of wood. The instructions were nice and clear able to understand. It probably took me about 40mins to assemble but I'm a girl and I did it by myself.

Love it

I have purchased  10 of these for myself and many more for my mom and others to aid in organizing various rooms and needs. I personally live in a small one bedroom townhome that's more like an efficiency. Unfortunately it's small for a girly girl with a lot of clothes. And recently I allowed my sister to move in while she transitions to her own apartment. To maintain my living room looking like a living room but also providing her with some storage for her clothes, shoes and personal items I purchased additional book shelves and paired them with these removable baskets from the dollar store and the items are contained without the look of clothes and stuff everywhere, which I can't stand. What I like about these are that you can make them your own by adjusting the shelves according to your desire or needs. The assembly is rather simply that I have them down pack, lol. The sturdiness is awesome for a cost effective item to aid in organizing. I have stacked several sets. I've used them for my kitchen needs, clothing and to stack shoes and for supplies. These bookshelves are multifunctional!

Great Value and Organizational Shelf!

This is definitely a cheap bookshelf, but it looks cute as heck. I assembled it by myself in about 30 minutes from start to finish. The worst part is hammering in the nails for the structurally required piece of paper you attach to the back, but even that isn't that big of a deal. If you just need a little shelf and you don't need it to be a family heirloom or anything, it'll hold some books or whatever.

This is my second bookcase from this line and I'm just as happy with it as the first. I already have the black version in my living room, and grabbed this white one for my office/bedroom. The quality is consistent across both.
Why I came back for another:
•  Reliable quality: Assembly is straightforward — took me under 20 minutes solo. No missing parts, no confusing instructions.
•  Looks great: The clean white finish is perfect for my office, just like the black one elevates my living room. It doesn't look cheap at all.
•  Surprisingly sturdy: Both units hold books, notebooks, speakers, and my laptop on top with zero wobble or sagging. 
If you need versatile storage that actually lasts, this is it. The fact that I trusted it enough to buy a second one in a different color says everything. Already recommending to friends!

So Good I Bought It Twice!

We bought this three shelf unit in Canyon Walnut, and it's so pretty! The picture online doesn't really do it justice. It's a solid piece despite the back being a bit flimsy. Since the back is cardboard, with a wood look finish, you will want the piece to back up to a wall however, the front, top, and sides are very pretty. Happy with the purchase and it's much better quality than those from the big online shop everybody uses.

Canyon walnut for the win!

I have used these little bookshelves for many things throughout my home. I put three of them together and mounted them atop a box I built to make a low library partition wall (I joined all the backs together by mounting luan-board across the whole span). One is used in our bathroom with multiple cube (fabric) containers to corral miscellaneous items. Two more flank our TV console.

Simple assembly - great little bookshelf

Mainstays products are probably my favorite, and this shelf is a hit. I actually have 3 of these in my house currently! Two are being used as bookshelves for my children, and one is being used as a toy shelf for my toddler. These shelves were very easy to assemble using the instructions that are included and it only took me about 30 minutes to put them together. They're great!

Easy Assembly

The included small, odd, black piece of plastic is a device to help people hammer in the nails. I didn't realize what it was until after I completed the assembly. The nail device would probably help. Although I tried hard to nail very carefully, three of the nails caused damage to the bookshelf frame, causing small chunks of it to break off. The frame material is thin and easily damaged if the nails are not hammered in perfectly straight and in the exact right location and angle.

Use the plastic nailing device

Good cheap bookshelf! The back is very very weak, basically cardboard which I don't like. It also came partially ripped. Overall, I like it and recommend for the price.

Decent bookshelf for good price

The wooden boards come with pre drilled holes for the dowels and screws. The holes were extremely crooked you aren't able to attach the side of the book shelf or the shelves without out drilling new holes, but then you have empty holes where the screws and dowels were supposed to go. The wood isn't good quality it's all marked up and the baxk of the book shelf is a super thin piece of cardboard. Do not recommend
