The Expert Gardner steel tamper really helped me create my brick patio addition to my pavilion. I used it to compact the sand and dirt I layed the stones on. The handle with its grips made it easy to hold in my sweaty hands. The 8 x 8 size was just big enough to get the job done.

This tamper works very well at tamping down dirt and garden soil. We redid our paving stone patio and we were able to get a nice solid surface to work with. It has a nice, comfortable grip that helped reduce hand fatigue and the risk of blisters. It is well-made and feels like it will last for years and years

What can I say?It's an excellent tamper. Sturdy, good weight.Good handle, and it got my job done. Definitely gonna keep it around for other yard work. And also, for when I do the driveway, touch up. It will help to level the asphalt repair patches. I may even lend it out to my neighbor. I would recommend this product to a friend. I also have other expert gardener outside tools. Good value product. I have received this item in exchange for my honest feedback.

Sturdy Tamper that did the job

I needed some pavers put down by my ramp to prevent the water from puddling when raining. I had received this but had to wait for my son to get it done. Unfortunately, He didn’t want to be filmed or photographed while working. But I bought large pavers and water rocks to go between them and this was a great tool for him to pack the dirt back down after leveling up the area for the pavers to go! 
I was so happy that I had purchased this and had a necessary task for it to be used on. Great timing and a useful tool. I would recommend this for anyone with yard work as the Spring landscaping has started for most.

A Useful Tool for Yard Tasks!

This is a very well- made tamper that will last for years. It has come in handy this spring helping make garden paths and putting down a small flag-stone patio. It has a nice rubberized handle that helps you keep a good grip and reduce hand fatigue.

Sturdy and well-made

I honestly didn't even know about this tool before getting this!!! I had a bunch of home projects I wanted to do such as adding cement blocks to create a walkway in our front yard as well as the back yard. This paver was a tremendous help at flattening the ground before we laid anything down. I'm thoroughly impressed and pleased with this tool!!! It doesn't seem like it would make a grand difference, but it definitely saves time and helps a bunch at flattening any surface!!

Perfect packer!

This helped me so much with my spring garden renovation! Sometimes I need areas of dirt or rock pack down, and my weight isn't always enough. I was able to pack areas I have a hard time reaching, but the handle length made it super easy. It's sturdy, and very well made. I put this thing through it, and it held up really well. It does have some weight to it, so it really gets things packed tightly. I really like how well made it is, and I plan to get more tools from this line.

This cut back so much work!

I am very pleased with this tamper.  The long handle makes it easy to use without bending over. The steel square head feels solid and heavy to compact soil and paver base. We used this product for a paver base, and it performed as expected. The comfort grip is nice. Durable & effective tamper

I picked up this Expert Gardener square tamper for a small project where I needed to compact soil and gravel. It has a good amount of weight to it, which helps a lot when you’re trying to get solid compaction without putting in a ton of extra effort.

The handle feels sturdy and the comfort grip on the end is a nice touch when you’re using it for a while. I’ve put about an hour of steady tamping on it so far and it has held up well with no issues. The steel base seems solid and does the job it’s supposed to do.

My only complaint is that it feels a little overpriced for what it is, but the build quality is decent and it works well.

Overall, if you need a simple hand tamper for compacting dirt, gravel, or paver base, this one gets the job done.

Solid tamper with good weight for compacting

This product will get the job done. I purchased it to do some yard work and it was amazing. Definitely do recommend. It is especially easy for a woman to use as well as a man.
