I never opened the delivered package from Walmart.  Ijust wrapped it and put it under the Christmas tree.  Our 20 member family played "Dirty Christmas"  where everyone draws a number and has a chance to steal your present. This hotdog roaster was stolen 3 times by various family members until the game was over. The last person to steal this toaster, eats hotdogs everyday.  No kidding everyday.  After he won this prize, he ran to his truck with this package and stated this was going in his man cave and nobody better touch it. As far as how it works, this party was yesterday,  so I dont have any feedback. I just know how many people wanted it, fought for it, stole it, and the winner ran with it. It's a great Christmas gift if you have a " Matlock" in the family.

This hot dog toaster is wonderful.  It makes great tasting hot dogs and toasts the buns to perfection. The first time I used it the buns I had were a bit thick and I had to put the buns in closed.  they stilled tasted good: but they were more warmed than toasted. I did have to toast the hot dogs twice because I wasn't sure how long to roast them for them to be cooked the way I liked them.  I like mine done for about 2 1/2 or set the dial between 2 and 3.  I used Ball park beef franks.  The buns I use now are the GV (Grear Value) hot dog buns which fit opened into the bun slots and toast perfectly.  It may take a few tries to know your preferred setting,  It's easy to clean and I will replace when the time comes.

Wish I'd bought it sooner.  It's great.

This is the best appliance I ever bought….the hot dog toaster heats the bun and cooks the hot dog perfectly…..it's so easy for the kids to do……easy clean up too….

Hot Dog Toaster

This toaster like appliance is fun to use.  At the over ripe age of 83 I have trouble getting pans,etc.  With this device everything is right there and hot dogs and buns come out at the same time. Read in one review that buns might come out too toasted so I trimmed them a little!  No pans to dig out and put away.

Does what it was meant to - cook regular sized hot dogs and warm up regular sized buns. Be aware that true to the label on the toaster it will smoke a little the first one or two times you use it.
Once we found the correct setting (4 for us) we just leave it there and cook away!!

We initially bought three Pop-up Hot Dog toasters as Christmas gifts. The intent was for us to give 2 away and keep one for ourselves. However, we ended giving all three away and everyone that received them , loved them. We returned in January to purchase ours and found they where all gone. Had to purchase it through WalMarts buy online and pick up at store option.

All turned out well. OUr friends love their gifts and we love ours as well. Good price and easy to order online.
If you are trying to decied whether to purchase one or not, hope this review helps you decide.

Great Gift Idea

Bought this for my husband who would eat hotdogs every day if I let him. It is very compact and easy for him to take to work and use in the break room. I would recommend when you plug it in for the first time that you do so in the garage. It smoked quite a bit. I might also suggest you cook hot dogs by themselves on medium, then add the buns and do another cycle. Just to be sure the dogs are thoroughly heated.

I purchased this for an easy way to make a quick lunch during my long work shift. This unit works very well & I'm very happy with purchase. It is worth mentioning that large "plump" hotdogs are too big for this unit, and if you enjoy your hotdogs well done or burnt, you might need to cook them twice. If your hotdogs are too plump to get out of the toaster, wait a few minutes as they will shrink once they aren't so hot. The buns normally don't go down with the hotdogs, but I just give them a little tap to make them go down as well. Overall, for the price I paid, this is a handy little device and I've, as well as many of my coworkers, have gotten a great kick out of it!

This thing is great!

Really easy to use, fun way to make hot dogs and toast the buns. I got it thinking it would be fun for my child to make his own hot dogs and he can! It really does get the hot dogs good and cooked and the buns toasted. It’s a little uneven, and the sides of the compartment where the buns go, can get sticky and build up burnt bread. It does fall down but also needed to scrape. Maybe not an issue if the buns are not large. Can be overlooked but it can leave residue on the next one if you’re making more than one serving.

Fun and easy to use

This was a Christmas gift for my sister. She saw the item in a Big Lots store at a price slightly higher than I found it at Walmart. Since Walmart is only about 3 minutes from my home I decided to order online and send it Site to Store. The convenience of getting the same product without a 10 to 15 minute drive was wonderful!

overall it does ok and the kids like it but there are a couple issues, first buns tend to get stuck and rip apart second it dosent cook the hot dogs enough. usally have to run it threw twice.

The hotdog wieners cooked ok. But the hotdog bun warmers burnt the buns. I wasn't very satisfied with this item. Don't recommend anyone buying this. Better to just make hotdogs the old fashioned way.
