This Crane Ultrasonic cool mist humidifier is awesome.  If use distilled water it is very easy to keep clean especially if use the Protec fish or balls in the water.    However, one must use EXTREME caution to NOT let it run dry.  It is possible to start a fire because sometimes the automatic shut-off does not
work.   If monitored very closely this is an excellent little humidifier.

This is the first review I have ever done on a product, I had to because I love it that much! I love this humidifier! The maintenance is so easy! I use it at night. I fill it up and plug it in before bed, let it run all night and when I wake up in the morning I take it to the kitchen dump the water that's left in it out and dry all of it off with a paper towel then I lay it on a dish towel to air dry and repeat this daily. Once a week I fill both parts with the warm water and vinegar mixture and let sit for 20 minutes, rinse and air dry. I have not had any issues with this product at all! No mold like I have had in past humidifiers, no weird smells or anything like that. It doesn't make anything around it damp or wet (that I have noticed), but I have it on a plastic table just in case it ever would leak and so the mist won't ruin anything. The only downfall to this humidifier for me is it is really quiet. I like background noise when I sleep so I just run a fan in my room with it and problem solved.

BEST HUMIDIFIER I'VE EVER HAD

I love it! Our old one was very noisy and when I plugged this one in and turned it on my husband said, "It's broken." I replied, "No it's not. It is whisper silent." He said he was joking. After living with our old one for so long it was amazing how you don't hear anything from this one!

I was searching for a good quality Humidifier within my budget, and heard of this brand. I've heard mix reviews about $40 to $60 Humidifier that breaks easy, so i took sometime to research and decide to give it a try.

Its now the third day I am testing it. Using it almost 24 hours a day since I got it. So far so good, doesn't have much noise, and does produce good amount of mist. It has auto shut off when the water runs out. However, I wish they can improve on the water container, is not a big problem but it is annoying that since its a water drop shape, its hard to carry the container to refill more water without spill some water out. But is not hard to manage that so I left a small towel next to it. consider its only $34 plus tax. Is totally worth it. Target sell exact same model and color for $55. Now I just hope to see how long this will last.

I like that it produces very small particles of moisture; without using heat, and has a quiet performance.

The only undesirable and unexpected downside is that the instructions specify not to set on the carpet or on a table. So I am trying to figure out what I can set it on.

I'm glad I didn't order a larger humidifier; because even this one is a little difficult to fill with water and carry to location.

But I like everything else about this humidifier.

I have used many humidifiers, many brands because living in central "dry" Wyoming, you have to use them in the winter.
I will not purchase anything but a Crane and my little girl wanted pink when it was time to replace hers(5 year old Crane, used it 24 hours a day from October to April).
Wal-Mart had by far the best price on the internet and shipping was fast!!

Won't purchase a humidifer that isn't a Crane

Except for the little gurgle as the water enters the basin, this baby is SILENT! Perfect for even the lightest sleeper.
I've run it continuously since purchase, at varied settings; With medium setting it easily runs 24 hours but even at highest setting, it lasts overnight. Similarly, no condensation or moisture near or below unit no matter the setting.
The positioning of the tank handle makes filling a bit tricky since it can't sit on a flat surface, but I've found, by removing my drain strainer, it fits nicely in the sink with no concern of damage to the handle. Not an issue, really, unless person had an injured or weak arm/hand.
We have extremely hard water, so I noticed mineral build-up in just a couple days. With daily rinse and wipe, plus recommended vinegar soak weekly, not a problem.

The Cool Mist humidifier works to clear breathing as expected, but the floor and everything around the humidifier gets WET. If you set it on low-medium, the floor does not get as wet. Recommend use of a towel around it to prevent furniture and floor damage.

Provides desired results BUT wets everything

Mist flows downward onto humidifier, water pools onto surface its placed on and also the entire unit. Electrical device on unit is in direct contact with flowing mist. Nothing good about the engineering. Would never place anywhere indoors, especially in a infant or childs room. Not safe or efficient. Potential fire or electrical shock hazard.

This products was broken when I received it. After removing the main parts from the box that appeared to be packed properly, I realized that the bottom portion of the unit was cracked. I had to return the unit the same day I received it. I ended up buying a different brand that I'm completely satisfied with.
