The Heddon Baby Torpedo is a proven topwater bait that smallmouth and largemouth bass can’t resist. Its single prop spins and spits water. The Baby Torpedo can be worked slowly with twitches and pauses, or reeled constantly at a medium retrieve like a buzzbait. In rivers, work the bait in shallow shoreline water, in eddies, near submerged rocks and in fast-moving riffles for giant smallmouth. In ponds and lakes, pause the Torpedo near wood and weed cover, gently twitching it to entice big largemouth. The Heddon Baby Torpedo is 2 1/2-inches long and weighs 3.8-ounce with two #4 hooks.

If you want some smallmouth bass topwater action these Heddon baby torpedoes are the way to go, constant strikes and I have landed many 18 plus smallmouth with these lures. They do have their downfalls though, the props on them get beat up very easy and you're constantly having to Bend them back and fourth to get them to spin right. And watch for bouncing them off of shorelines and rocks, can crack causing them to sink while reeling them in. But they are definitely worth it. Tons of of fun!

Prefect bait !!

This is an excellent topwater bait for bass. I've been using this bait since 1968 on many east Texas lakes and rivers with great success. This bait is a must have in my tackle box.

Awesome topwater

Had fantastic luck with the bullfrog color in Canada for smallmouth. In and around cover, close to shore and over shallow rocks.

Outstanding for Canada smallmouth

For decades I've fished this deadly surface plug. Must have lure,perch and frog colors have drawn vicious strikes. So why not 5 Star rating? The prop needs tweaking occasionally and I've had the eyelet back out,and nearly lost the prop. Of course hard strikes might account for this.
