Application process is straightforward with various tools.

The price was slightly higher than competitors

This was the prefect stain for our deck, railing and stairs.

Great product, easy to apply wood stain.

Good clean coverage. Covered well. Put on an outside portable building used for storing lawn mower. Noticed that the sun was really causing the boards to take a beating. Sprayed on with a hand sprayer and use a roller for even coverage.

Worth the money... Great Coverage

I have been refinishing decks for 18 years. Up until about 7 years ago, I went back and forth between Olympic Maximum and another brand. Many customers wanted me to come back and do their deck again after a few years. I started to notice the decks I stained up to 4-5 years earlier with Olympic had held up well. Decks stained with the other brand (Yellow can & rhymes with rabbit) the finish had NOT lasted well at all. I even had a couple complaints the other stain had not lasted even two years. 

Since seeing these results after several years, Olympic Maximum is MY GO-TO PRODUCT! Every time!

Of course, preparation is the key! Thorough but gentle pressure washing by a pro,(even NEW decking MUST be pressure washed to remove the "mill seal" or no finish will penetrate or adhere well!) a couple good days to dry out, usually some light sanding, blow off the sawdust, then you can apply the product. 

Keep it stirred up every few minutes. Spray, roller or brush, put on plenty and keep a "wet edge". Then YOU MUST BRUSH OUT EVERY BOARD so there are NO PUDDLES of liquid left on the wood surface! I like a 4" brush with natural bristles that screws on to a broom-length extension. Secure your brush with a hose clamp if you can't find a good one that screws on. Then you can brush/broom each board while standing. Go with the grain for liberal but even coverage. Remember, NO PUDDLES!

Give it a couple days to dry and ENJOY your gorgeous deck!

For each gallon of Cedar Naturaltone I add two or three gallons of Clear.

Many places offer that stain and your price was better than Home Depot or Lowe's or tractor supply. So for the same item at a better price delivered very quickly. How could it be anything except very satisfied

I've always had good luck with Olympic water guard transparent honey gold. A few years ago I could not find it and was told it was no longer available so I bought Valspar. It continued to Clump up and would not spray out of my pump sprayer and it was not transparent though the can said it was. This Olympic Maximum worked well, though I decided to roll it on instead of attempting to spray it on. I got much better coverage too. The photo shows some of the old Valspar that I was not able to get off. It'll eventually come off

I stained my deck with this, followed all the instructions on the can, waited for the perfect day.  That was a waste in less than 1 year the stain was peeling and the waterproofing was non-existent.  It was awful and the worst part is then I had to figure out to get the stuff off because you can't stain over what's already down.  I spent days and more money then the stain to buy something to strip off the old stuff.  Even with that I then had to hand sand certain areas. Needless to say less than happy with this, very disappointing.

Not what it says

On June 4th 2013 I stained our deck. After cleaning the deck with deck cleaner and using a sprayer and sanding the wood and letting it dry I started staining. I used a stain applying stick (which wasn't very good) as well as a brush. Within the next 6 months I noticed that the deck was peeling. I thought it was on the area that had the most use but no it was on other areas as well.
Before I bought your product I asked several people that were very experienced in staining decks and everyone had a different answer on which product to use and which one not to use. I chose Olympic and obviously chose the wrong brand. Very disappointing that it didn't even last until the next summer.

Last year I used 3 bottles of the Olympic deck cleaner and a pressure sprayer as directed. I then hand brushed on the Olympic Maximum Stain and Sealant figuring that it said that it would work for 4 years which made it worth the effort.
Unfortunately this spring I have noticed that the stain has already disappeared (even in the low use areas). Also the entire deck doesn't appear to be repelling any water absorption.

Definitely not worth the effort.
