Once you've completed Waverly Inspirations chalk acrylic paint projects, make sure you add a final finish with Waverly Inspirations antique wax sealer and protectant by plaid. The easy-to-use formula provides a durable, finish for furniture and more. For best results, use the Waverly Inspirations wax brush. Load with a small amount of wax and use a downward, circular motion to apply. Be sure to work the wax into a project's crevices and details. Allow the wax to dry for about 24 hours, then buff with a soft cloth. The more you buff, the glossier the sheen. Waverly Inspirations waxed and buffed surfaces will be fully dry in 7 days. Until then, keep the surface free from moisture and heavy use to allow enough time for the wax to fully dry.

I used the chalk paint as a base layer before using craft acrylic paint on top. I was using it on a smooth, manufactured wood product and it seems to have provided that grippy-base layer that I was looking for. The chalk paint had little noticeable smell. I was pleased.

Chalk paint worked

I had never used chalk paint before, so I tried three different brands to see which brand performed the best. I bought similar shades of pink in all three brands for a more accurate comparison. This Waverly brand was BY FAR the BEST chalk paint of the three brands I tried - which were: Dixie Bell, Waverly, and FolkArt Chalk Paint.

This Waverly chalk paint covered in one coat of paint and provided perfect, even coverage. I used this pink paint over a black surface, and it covered the black with NO problems. The Dixie Bell chalk paint required three coats in order to cover both a black and a white surface - THREE coats to get the same coverage as the Waverly in ONE coat. The FolkArt Chalk Paint performed the WORST. It barely covered the white or black surfaces - I gave up on the FolkArt Chalk Paint after applying five coats and still not 100% coverage. 

I HIGHLY recommend the Waverly Chalk Paint! It is so easy to apply, provides even, full coverage, and clean-up is a breeze. I definitely plan on buying more colors of the Waverly Chalk Paint - I just wish Walmart carried more of these colors in stock.

Best brand of chalk paint I've tried!

i really liked working with this paint. One coat does work,dry well. Great investment into an old dresser, looks great now, saved from going into trash.....

I saw a YouTube video showing how a crafter used the Waverley chalk paint wax to 'age' what they were making, so I bought it.
It was very easy to use and my project turned out great!!
I wish it came in other colors but for now, I'll keep using it on anything I need to.
I recommend this product.

This paint is very easy to apply and dries quickly. Love the way it looks after it is dry. I would not recommend little kids using this paint to play with because it is permanent . Depending on your project , you could get by with applying 1coat and it covers well, a second coat is thick and would be good if you are sanding part of it off for another color to show through. It doesnt take much of this paint to cover your project.

Very satisfied with outcome of paint

This antique wax is a terrific alternative when distressing your project that is very cost-effective compared to some of the alternatives and very easy to work with. If you mess up you can just spray a little water on it and blend it in more to your liking. I definitely recommend it.

My mother and I love to craft. We always use Waverly chalk paint. The Waverly Inspirations Chalk Paint, Ultra Matte, Ocean is the most beautiful blue I have found in paint. 
We use the Waverly chalk paint to do the first coat on almost everything we paint. It covers exceptionally well and can be left as is or painted over with acrylic paint. 

The flow of the paint is perfect. Not thick but not thin. The pigment load leads to a vibrant color. I would not want to craft without Waverly!

Ocean chalk paint by Waverly

I just love all of Waverly's chalk paints. The colors are wonderful, albeit sometimes hard to figure out thanks to the vague names and obvious issues with ordering paint online.  It's easy to use, and you can thin them with water if needed. All in all, great product.

Love Waverly Chalk Paint

Absolutely love Waverly chalk paint!!! It goes on so smoothly and always looks great especially this moss color is by far my favorite. I think this is like the third or fourth time with me buying this. I used it so often I love it.

Moss green for the win

I loved the moss color! Until I got the main pieces of this Ethan Allen hutch done and started the doors. (I got 1 door done with the same jars I used for the hutch bases) Be very careful purchasing multiple containers. 1 of ours was off by 2 shades and I had to order more and redo the entire hutch. The doors would have been an entirely different color than the hutch itself. Photos of the difference are included, yes all 4 containers were moss, 1 was lighter than the other 3. All in all I love how well the coverage is of this paint, minimal prep, a little goes a very long way!

Be careful purchasing multiples of 1 color.

I purchased the Waverly Silver Lining and Clear Wax to paint a small accent table that was varnished. I washed it down with TSP and painted over with 2 coats of the Silver Lining paint, and I was pretty pleased with the results! As others have said, the paint is thick, but it still went on smoothly for me and had good, even coverage, and no bleed through. However, I finished with a thin coat of the wax paint and regretted it. Within minutes, I could see areas with orange bleed through. I was careful to remove excess wax, but there were still a few corner areas where it gathered and looks yellow. I waited the full 24 hours recommended before buffing. Gentle buffing led some areas to have a distressed look. I tried to get off some of the excess wax in corners and this also took off some chunks of the paint. The project started off positive, but ended in disappointment! Maybe the paint is good, but don't use the wax!
