I am very happy with this kayak.  I have had it out twice.  It fits me well as a tall long legged person (5'11).  I can load and unload it on my car.  I think a longer paddle would fit me better but the one it came with is fine. It moves through the water well.  Overall very pleased.  I will also add that I had it delivered and it arrived in pretty good shape, just a few scuff marks.  The delivery guys were nice and helpful.

Great kayak

I ordered two of these around the same time, but I have only received one so far (which came 2-3 weeks earlier than expected).
We had to pay the extra freight fee for delivery and the kayak was damaged in the shipping process (picture attached). the damage could have been way worse, but not something you want to see on a brand new item that you just spent a lot of money on. 
Besides that, the kayak is a great deal for the price. As others have said, the seat isnt the comfiest but can be a cheap fix. The paddle is also not the best, so we plan to upgrade to a better paddle.

Beautiful kayak all around, I'm very happy with it.  Paddled well, nice and comfortable, good placement for the cup holder and storage bin.  I'd buy this again and recommend it to others.

Order arrived early, but 1 out of 3 kayaks ordered arrived with a dent. Walmart refunded $160 for the damages. I was able to fix the dent by pouring boiling water over the dent and using compressed air to pop it out. I am very happy with my purchase.

I had been using a Seveylor inflatable kayak all over the US since the 80s. The river where I now live has a 1/2 to 3/4knot current which just makes for a frustrating paddle with the inflatable.

The 5 inch wide rear skeg throws off the balance causing the nose to bury into the water slowing this significantly. 

My first impression with the Tahoma was "Good grief, this thing is noisy" as the water burbled around the bow. This was pushing out a bow wave which is not supposed to happen on kayak. The eddies around the paddle indicated a kayak that just did not want to slice through the water.

The problem is that the rear skeg is 5 inches wide. The skeg should be as thin as possible. This 5 inch wide skeg is 24 inches long until it finally tapers into the hull. This is an incredible amount of buoyancy for that area of the kayak. This keeps the stern high and pushes the nose down into the water.

It just does not glide through the water.

I did find that if I sit cross legged in this, the center of gravity changes and the kayak levels out and will actually glide through the water. The difference is 1/2 to 3/4 knot increase in speed and much much less effort to paddle at the faster speed. Fortunately, sitting cross legged is a comfortable position.

The back of the 5 inch wide skeg is relatively blunt which causes suction and I wonder how much drag that causes.

The good about this kayak is that it is stable, tracks well and the back support is excellent. Except for the bad skeg design, the rest of the hull seemed to be the cleanest streamlined design of all the sit on top kayaks at the store.  The drain holes which are also structural had proper streamlining. You will notice that the other sit on kayak photos do not show their undersides. They are all hydrodynamically dirty with deep slots and sharp leading and trailing edges.

I am going to experiment with some bricks to try to balance this out. I like the backrest and other features well enough to try and work with this.  But if I cannot fix this it is going back to exchange for a sit in kayak. All the other sit on kayaks seem to be designed cluelessly about hydrodynamic streamlining.

Hydrodynamicly incorrect

I recently bought the Lifetime Tahoma 10ft Sit-on-Top Kayak for $250 through Walmart . While the price is great, and the kayak itself is stable and floats well, there were some issues with both the delivery and a few of the design features.

First, the delivery took two weeks, and the kayak arrived damaged from being dragged on the ground.

As for the kayak's design, it's very wide, which makes it stable and difficult to tip over. However, some of the features feel a little cheap. The cup holder is only about a half-inch deep, so it's not practical for holding a drink. The drain plug is also small and made of thin plastic, similar to what you'd find on a toy squirt gun.

The "dry box" is also disappointing. It doesn't seal properly, so nothing inside will stay dry. When you open the hatch, it gives you access to the entire inside of the kayak, making it difficult to retrieve anything you store inside.

I ordered this kayak bc i didnt have room to pick it up in store. Upon receiving it did not come in cardboard box. Just wrapped poorly in bubble wrapping. Opened wrap and during inpection i found a punctured slice and dent. It is not usable for its purpose bc of damage it received during shipping. Highly upset as it was a nice kayak and great for price. Me and my family waited 2/3 weeks for this kayak. So we are quite a bit upset.

Displeased with shipping

The kayak arrived earlier than expected, wrapped in plastic. It was severely dented in several spots. It's disappointing to save for a kayak, purchase one, and have it arrive in this condition. Walmart offered two options. 1- Wrap and return the kayak for a refund. 2-Wrap and return the kayak; and once the return is processed receive a replacement. My concerns are....How do I wrap it, how do I know a new one will arrive undamaged, and how long will the replacement process take so that I can use the kayak before the end of the season? I have been a Target customer for years before moving to another state and ordering from Walmart. I don't believe I will order from them again.

Unsatisfied with Condition and Walmart

Arrived in a sheet of clear plastic. No protection or padding whatsoever. Arrived late. Was extremely damaged. Returned and received return receipt but still waiting on refund. For the price paid for item and shipping, I expected it to arrive new and undamaged, not looking used and broken.

Don't bother. Shopping is awful.
