This Sony speaker exceeded my expectations. I mean…Sony! Right!? I expected it to sound good, but exceeded what I was expecting. It’s portable and water resistant, so that helps when I go hang at the beach. I like a lot of bass in my speakers and this definitely performs for its size!

Great speaker and love the sound, especially with the ULT active (really helps with bass). I’ve noticed some genres of music sound better than others but overall they all sound good to me. Using it to play Movies is not bad, but I think it is better suited for music or podcasts. Battery Life has been pretty good for our use, it does vary depending on the volume level it’s set at. From a full charge we’ve had it last through the night (roughly 8 hours) at a low volume level for ambient sleep music and it  still had about 40% charge left. 
At high volumes I didn’t notice distortion and vocals come through clear to my liking.
I think this is a great speaker for low to medium volume background music, and for the occasional times you want it loud it does great at that too. Just remember battery life is dependent upon the volume levels. 
I haven’t tested its waterproofness but so far its durability has been good with the kids when they’re carrying it around. Nothing too crazy. It mainly sits on a shelf in whatever room it’s being used in.

Great sound for a portable BT speaker.

I love this speaker! It sounds great! It is light weight and easy to use. My only frustration was in registering the speaker. Apparently, it has a different model number - that was LOADS of drama. But the speaker itself is amazing!

Amazing speaker - hard to register

This sounds really good paired with my laptop or the cheap 43* TV I take when not staying at home.it I light weight and has good sound and decent volume. I have liked the battery life over the 1 month I have had it.

Bought this speaker on clearance for 36 dollars and it's better than any 200 dollar speaker I've ever owned I love this purchase Sony did amazing with this product.

An aux input would be nice. It doesn't have the  option to skip a song while linked to Bluetooth. Other brands that do this is at similar price point, but thought this one would be nice for sound. Wish I would have went with either JBL or Bose instead.

With a brand name like "Sony", I had high expectations of great sound for my entertainment wants %26 needs. What I got instead, was a very tinny, distorted sounding experience which left me flat. I tried using it to listen to a news broadcast %26 I didn't like hearing speaking voices through it either. It was very sturdy %26 appealing to the eye, as well as a nice size. So for me, it was not worth the price %26 I would not buy it again.

The 3 star rating because the connections with this item were somewhat of a nightmare.

My application required the speaker to be remotely placed and required a quick connection between several phones.    Could not get this to reliably work.

Also, we were trying to get a pair of these to work in stereo, and that was also a nightmare in regards to getting it set up reliably.

I really wanted these to work because the sound was great, the battery life outstanding and they were small and inconspicuous.   But the bluetooth connections were a nightmare.

Perhaps if you are only using 1 speaker connected to a single phone, you would be happy.   Do not recommend for multiple phones and stereo speaker setup.

Great speaker, bad software for multiple speakers.

It has a very dominant  bass. I couldn't adjust the sound quality, and it isn't loud enough. I listened to it for two days. I am returning it. I usually love Sony products.And I have a Sony TV, and this would be a perfect speaker for someone who doesn't need a lot of sound. But I like to take mine outside and turn it up and listen to my music no matter where I am on the property

This speaker was missing much of the mid-range that was I expecting from Sony based on my ownership and appreciation for an older type of Bluetooth speaker... the Sony SRS-XB33.  The price is right, but the product did not delivery the expected sound quality.
