Gel food colorings are superior when dying frosting. You get vibrant colors so much easier. Orange is a difficult color to create with food coloring drops, but I was able to make a beautiful orange frosting for Dragonball Z inspired cupcakes that didn't look washed out or pastel. I mixed the red and yellow together really effectively, but I've seen that this brand also sells the atypical food colors and has a set that includes orange. I would absolutely buy this again and also get the additional colors.

I love the gel food coloring. It works better for me and the Betty Crocker brand works better than any of the others I've tried.

I haven't tried it yet. So I can't tell you what I like about it.

Nice food colors! You have your basic primary colors sbd can mix to get different colors. I mix these in with white frosting to get different colored frosting for cake decorating. They are tasteless and odorless. They are gel and not the liquid.

There are many food coloring products available these days, some new brands some old, but I trust Betty Crocker more than all of them. Their prices are always competitive and their product always reliable

Better Crocker gel food coloring

We thought we'd try these instead of the liquid food coloring this time.  My daughter thought the colors were much more vibrant with the gels.  :)

Worked good

The Betty Crocker Gel food coloring is fine.  I purchased the Great Value store brand along side it and it is nearly identical for a much lower price.  For personal work in the home kitchen I would say that the Walmart Brand suffices.

Good Product but Store Brand is fine for Home

We used the classic color gell food coloring for dying easter eggs last night. I was very sad that the Red was not Red, but Orange instead. This did not come to my realization until after I kept trying to make Purple by adding Red and Blue together, which everyone knows is Purple....  however, after 3 failed attempts (1 came out Brown, 1 came out an odd shade of dark green, and 1 came out an ugly light brown/green/almost orange color). Needless to say my 8 year old niece was a little sad over this. Also my test egg for Red came out a dark Orange. 

Aside from that disappointment, the Yellow and Blue were very very pretty!

Disappointed in these food color gels :/ I made a beautiful purple butterfly cake for my sister's 16th birthday and when I arrived to her house, the walk from the car to their house, the sun made the frosting change colors from a beautiful purple, to a baby blue. Idk why the sunlight made the color change. Maybe it's something in the food coloring gel? So sad, still to this day.

First of all, I did not receive the Pastel food coloring that I ordered, I received the original basic colors, and that made me very unhappy because I really needed the pastel colors. However I understand that it wasn't in stock yesterday. Betty Crocker food coloring quality isn't very good, but I used it anyway and did the best I could with it. The price is okay, but I feel it should be a cheaper price because of the very cheap quality of the food coloring.
