I was so excited to try this! I know the brand makes great quality products so I was eager to finally try these! I received this complimentary lipstick in exchange for an honest review. The color I tried was the Exotic Red. My favorite lip color to put on has always been red and I must say that this red was very pretty! The lipstick itself was pretty thin which makes it easy to apply. I also love how smooth it is on your lips! Will definitely recommend.

this lipstick was very easy to apply and did not lack color! it's definitely a more opaque lipstick. The lipstick has a very smooth consistency & is relatively easy to get off of your lips with minimal staining i received this product complimentary for testing purposes

vibrant yet smooth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very pigmented and long lasting. When I first got it I tried it on and was impressed with how vibrant it was. I left it on all day to see how long it would last or if I needed to touch up, but let me tell you it stays on. I had to get makeup remover to remove it. So if you are looking for a long lasting lipstick with a good color this is the one for you!

Long Lasting and Beautiful Color!

I bought this on a whim cause the color was pretty! Its very creamy but comes out matte and not drying. The packaging is beautiful. I love wearing it as is and sometimes with a lip topper.

Shiseido has the best lipsticks ever. I have used many high end brands but nothing compares to Shiseido's quality. Matt finish with intense color, soft creamy texture that stays put but also very easy to wipe off. I can't ask for a better lipstick.

Best Matt lipsticks

*I received this product complimentary in exchange for my honest review* This shade Exotic Red is beautiful- the perfect fall red for my medium skin tone. The formula is consistent with a traditional bullet lipstick- creamy, glides on smoothly and has a matte finish. After an hour or so of wear, it does begin to feather around the edges, which is why I took off one star. This can be easily prevented by using a lip liner (or eye/lip primer!) underneath. Pairs beautifully with glowing skin.

Perfect Fall Red

I tried a mini of the ModernMatte lipstick in the shade Exotic Red. The first thing I really liked about this product was the packaging- it comes in a unique square tube that stands out from my other lipsticks. Application was a little tricky at first because of the boxy shape of the lipstick but I got the hang of it fairly quickly. It goes on very pigmented, nice and smooth. Great coverage and the shade is definitely attention grabbing. It isn't drying like other matte lipsticks (I've tried them all) but with that positive feature comes the fact that it does transfer quite easily. You'll end up with it everywhere if you're not careful. Removal was extremely easy with micellar water & a cotton pad. It didn't stain my very pale skin at all. I look forward to wearing it out again soon. Thanks to Influenster & Shiseido for sending me this mini complimentary in exchange for my honest opinion on the product.

Bold lasting color.

I wore this lipstick and really enjoyed the color pay off. I think the red shade I had was an excellent match for my skin tone and was very vibrant on. I think the lipstick is long lasting and a very nice addition to a makeup collection and a great staple for a classic red lip look. I did receive this product complimentary as a sample and I'm glad I got to try it.

I received this complimentary for testing purposes and I truly was so excited when I go this in the mail, I put it on my instagram story right away letting my followers know how excited I was to try this product. Now I'm not sure if I received one from a bad batch but when I put on the lipstick in the color Exotic Red I was picturing the red to be similar to NARS Cruella or something along those reds after seeing the color in the tube, but what I got was a pink red that no matter how many coats I put on it wouldn't darken on my lips to the red I was hoping for like as shown in the example photos. The lipstick itself did feel nice and creamy but this color was too sheer and too pink for me. Now I'm grateful to have received this product but I was not impressed with this particular shade of lipstick.

I wanted to like this so bad!
