buyer should beware that swagtron swag cycle has gone out of business. 
it's a really great product so therefore there shouldn't be too many issues. 

I wanted a replacement charger because mine got overly hot when I used it. 

I wasn't able to get that to happen and I could have really pushed it and demanded Walmart to step in when the warehouse process became more than I felt like dealing with. 

Walmart is a great company and they would definitely help me resolve the issue but the fact is the charger seems to be working although it does get awfully hot. 

I charged the product outside of my front door so that there is no chance it can cause issues to my rental unit. 

I think it's really sad that this company was run out of business. 

they never should have forced a recall just because one product malfunctioned. 

the little company couldn't handle it and it folded and collapsed.

this was an American company Indiana. 

so imagine all the jobs that were lost. 

it's a real shame. 

what a solid little bike for $229! 

I can use just the throttle or I can do pedal assist. 

I even rode my swagtrom about a hundred feet in the rain. 

it shut down. 

I turned it back on tried to write it some more and it shut down again. 

got it home and let it dry. 

next time I wrote it it kept shutting down on the way to the store. 

but did not shut down one time on the way back home. 

hasn't shut down again on me while I'm riding it. 

I'm very happy with this bike and get tons of compliments!

RIP Swagtron 😭😭 😭

A steal at 229...This is my second EB-5.  I replaced the battery and 1 tire on my first bike and its is still great 6 years later.  Unlike cheap Chinese designs, this is all aluminum with very well thought out design.

The bad, you need to be handy when it is time to change the battery.  Many bike shops shy away from any ebike as the technical knowledge and fire risk is a liability.  This battery is in the frame and is safer than not in frame...but fire is bad

The great, quality, ride simplicity, weight, compact size... you can carry on most busses and trains... all for $229
The bad; throttle cannot get wet (not sure if later models have this issue).  If throttle gets wet, it can fry our control.  I keep plastic bag on bike to wrap throttle in case of rain.  This is not a waterproof bike, but can handle a little rain.   DealsADay Inc has a 30 day return window and charges for return... so beware if you get a lemon, you might be fighting with walmart.  That being said, mine was perfect form  DealsADay Inc and I love it.

Swagetron has discontinued this and made it Legacy.  So support might be zero.  That begin said, chargers, batteries, components can all be found on ebay generically.  There are plenty of youtube tutorials on fixing ebikes

This is now a Legacy Product.  But a Great Bike

Swag on EV five pro light aluminum version is that much better than the standard version. Weight is a big factor all swagtron  bikes are very nice and the price is right. I have three others and no problems to speak of and I enjoy them all.

5 Stars for a scooter 3 stars for a bicycle that's 4 star from me. In bicycle mode not real easy to ride. No gear changing, small tires so it's just not a quality bicycle experience. However on the positive side, if someone complains about you riding in scooter mode on the park sidewalk, you can quickly go to bike mode. But it's fun scooter. Good for young people, however seniors could get hurt if the took a spill. You will need a helmet because this is not a toy. Overall it is well built and excellent scooter and fun to ride.

bought as a gift and my nephew loved it he is 18 and it helps him get to work.

great gidt for teenager

It's very light which is great but it's not for children under 10 in my opinion. It's pretty fast and will pop a wheelie if your under 150lbs so be careful also bought this for my 9yr old kid which was too fast for her plus there's no break lights or headlights which I highly recommend especially if the kid or adult is riding it on a backroad so cars can see you

Lags before the motor cuts on and it makes it harder to get in the groove of pedaling otherwise it's in good shape

Doesn't start up right away

Product worked for about 5-10 minutes and then the motor seized up, and now I have to deal with Swagtron who is not responding to my emails, so I may be contacting the BBB if I don't hear from them I am really disappointed in the way this is working out

Bad e-bike

A damaged product was delivered.  The damage had to have happened at the factory.  The box was in great shape and it was very well packed.  The power cord from the battery to the motor was damaged at the rear wheel hub.
