Can be quiet, but also generates a loud, disturbing sound.

Effective for small to medium-sized rooms.

Setup takes only a few minutes with simple process.

Color

Have a second story home that is difficult to cool off on the second floor. Purchased one for my daughter as she complains she is always hot, however husband stole it for our room upon delivery and loved it so I purchased a second one. Not too loud. Daughter and everyone now complains how cold they are when it is on. Definitely does the job. Will need to get my electric bill to compare if it is more cost efficient to run both of these units vs cranking the air.

Definitely recommend

All the good things everyone posted in the reviews are true. Once everything was ready for setup it was a breeze! The unit is being used in a upstairs room the exceeds the suggested size room, and in just under 10 minutes the unit cooled down the room great. As you know heat rises, and my thermostat downstairs was 84 and the unit displayed 88 when I first started to operate it. I would highly recommend this Honeywell portable ac unit, it is phenomenal!

This Unit Kicks Butt   Beats the Heat!

Pros: Does cool the room, comes with the windows set up kits, remote control included, wheels for easy transfer 
Cons: Does make pretty decent amount of noise, a lot heavier than I expected (my bedroom is on the 2nd floor)

Happy I got it

Very impressed. Both the compressor and fan are very quiet. In spite of being humid we've yet to have to drain any water out. Price was reasonable and setup easy. Hopefully it lasts the same 15 years our previous “portable” (hah!) ac unit lasted.

This unit is quiet, efficient and keeps my room comfortable. I have had three consecutive nights of very restful sleep. We have had temperatures over 100* every day for six days. I am doing repairs to my roof and can not use existing AC until repairs completed. Prior to purchasing this unit I was using a high speed fan. The average inside room temperature has been approximately 89*. So as you can see this purchase has been a life saver.

I have a medium size bedroom. This product cools the space very well and is not noisy during the run. BUT, when the set temperature is reached, the device stops cooling, and it is very loud. This noise is disturbing and woke me up several times that I ended up returning the product. I also did not like that when the temperature is reached, the device still keeps working and dehumidifying the air. This is bad for energy consumption and not desired for cities with dry weather. I also did not like that there is no digital display on the front face but at the top. I have positioned the AC on top of a table so top display was not helping.

Cools well but very noisy

Package was badly damaged styrofoam was all busted up inside looks like someone dropped it from the top shelf!

Iffy

I bought this for a room less than 300 square feet (rated for up to 400 square feet).  It has a hard time bringing the room temperature from 83 degrees.  Would only get the room down to 75 degrees after about 2 hours.  Don't know if it will actually help cool when it is really hot outside.  A disappointment.
Also, according to the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Energy, a 9,100 BTU (ASHRAE)/6,100 BTU (SACC) portable air conditioner is good for rooms up to 300 square feet, not the 400 square feet advertised.

Wimpy cooling.  Not worth the price.

It is an aesthetically attractive unit, but incredibly loud. I do not think it has enough juice to properly cool a room down during hot summer days. The coolest temp reached in a 10×11 room was 73. We've had temps in high 90s over consecutive weeks, the unit did not provide that wonderful cold AC feeling. Plus, we couldn't run it at night, even on the lowest setting because it was too loud, much louder than most units I've ever used. The unit was placed in a bedroom upstairs; while turned on, family members (while downstairs) said it sounded like I was running a loud power generator. I think I'll shell out another $200-$300 and purchase a beefier, quieter unit. Unfortunately, this one will be returned.
