The FoodSaver Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer fits on your own Ball and Kerr Mason jars and works with FoodSaver vacuum sealer systems to keep goods fresh longer. It is ideal for liquids, fragile foods and dry goods like brown sugar, spices, dried fruit and coconut. The mason jar sealers replace standard Mason-type jar lids to create a vacuum seal that locks out air - the enemy of freshness. It is not to be used for canning. It is simple to use by connecting one end of the jar sealer to the machine's accessory port and the white, round-shaped end to the top of a lidded Mason jar, so that it fits securely over the screwed-on lid. It works well for safely storing strawberry and blackberry jams, chocolate sauces, hot mustard, and other liquids and fragile foods. This Foodsaver Jar Sealer is awesome!! You can keep food fresh and organize your fridge effortlessly. I bought a case of half pint mason jars and have my fruit organized also I have my veggies prepped and ready to add to a meal and so easy to reseal time and time again. I love it !  : )

bought my foodsaver right before Christmas and it turned out to be my best present. I bought all the different  bag types plus the jar sealer- got the wide mouth to go with that type jar. I haven't tried it with anything but spring mix lettuce but it has worked so well. I am only one who eats salads and anything I buy goes nasty in a few days. I have be able to keep the mix well over a week- opening and then resealing the jar. Totally recommend this product

great add on for my foodsaver

This isn't the first jar sealer from FoodSaver I've purchased. 
I have both standard & wide mouth jar sealers. 
I bought these ones for my Mom for Christmas because she saw mine. 
I just wish they would make the Gem size jar sealer, because the old jars look so nice in my pantry. 
The jar sealers are a must have if you do a lot of stocking up. I find Tupperware gets stinky but storing in glass doesn't. 
Great for storing dry goods & I also use it for freezing soups, broths, etc. 
100% make it part of your FoodSaver accessories, I'd be lost without them both.

I purchased this to use with the foods I am drying inmy new dehydrator. Then I decided to try it on salad greens...to keep lettuce from browning so quickly.  Works like a charm! That function alone will more than pay for it.  And time saving, I can cut up lettuce, cabbage, and shredded carrots for several days...add tomatoes and avocados right before serving. Love it.

Why didn't I get one of these years ago ?

I bought the wide mouth and the regular size jar sealers. Then, of course, I needed to buy the wide mouth jars. I bought quart and 2 quart size wide mouth jars.  I already had plenty of pints and quart regular jars.  I love these sealers.  I put left over scalloped potatoes & ham, sloppy joe hamburger, in the freezer.  I also had some opened bags of flour that I sealed in the jars. Dried apples in the jars , too. I love these 
sealers.

Great addition to my Food Saver Sealer

This works wonderfully. I use it to seal lettuce and other perishable produce in order to extend their life. Some things ferment though so keep an eye on them. It's also great for sealing nuts or crackers into mason jars so they don't go stale.

Skip the regular mouth version of this because so many reviews say it doesn't work very well & get this one instead. No need for all those disposable expensive vacuum bags and containers for the fridge or pantry shelf - all you need is this and mason jars. I use pint and quart. You can reuse the lids as many times as you wish as long as you're careful opening the seal.

If you have a FoodSaver, you need this

Pretty decent FoodSaver® Regular Jar Sealer. Have sealed Ten cases of regular mouth  ball/mason jars since getting this about a month ago. I do put the lids in warm (120F) water and usually get about 80% first seal on using Ball lids. Sometimes you just have to use two lids on stubborn jars, run the vacuum seal, and carefully remove the topmost lid.  I can get 100% first seal using the two lids technique.  Not one of my sealed jars using this regular lid tool have lost seal.  Worth the price if you have the vacsealer machine..

Pretty decent FoodSaver® Regular Jar Sealer

This does exactly as it is advertised! The thing you have to realize is that you only need one! The way it's advertised it gave me the impression that you needed one for every jar! YouTube does a much better job on how to use the product! Gave a three because of poor description!

Works as advertised but!

The rubber gasket comes out after every use.  I have the wide mouth sealer and it works great.   But this one is just a hassle to use.  I am not happy with this regular mouth sealer.  Not worth the money to keep or send back.  And it doesn't seal the jar the first time.  I have to seal 2-4 time before it seals

Don't waist your money

I purchased the regular and the widemouth jar sealers the same day. The large mouth sealer works very well. The regular sealer has been a big disappointment. I am hoping with time and practice I will change my mind. I had been so pleased with my vaccum sealer. I hope this doesn't spoil my opinion.
