This is a beautiful canner, but the one feature that impressed me the most was its weight. It is much lighter than my other, older canner of similar size. At my age, the weight of a cooking pot, especially one that has to be filled with water and carried to the stove is important. this canner is light weight but equally sturdy with a good, flat, solid bottom that heats up timely on my glass top electric stove.

This canner is 21.5 Cu. Ft. large. It has a clear cover so you can see your progress. It also contains a divider (canning rack) to separate the canning's. This canner is an impressive size and can also be used to boil other items like pasta, crabs, or other items for a larger family.

Prep and Cook Canner

This canning set is beautiful. The appearance is impressive, and the functionality is great. The set
consists of the 21.5 quart pot, a glass lid which includes a vent, and the rack which has collapsible
handles. 

As with most cooking scenarios, the most time consuming part is the preparation. This canning set makes the final food processing to be the absolute easiest segment.

Washing the canning set is a little challenging, simply due to the dimensions of the pot. It is more shallow than most 21.0 quart pots, which makes it wider than most. However, it is not extraordinarily difficult.

Although the pot is of a tremendous capacity, the lower depth of the pot simplifies the handling of hot jars and lids. The pot is just deep enough to provide the proper water coverage for quart size jars, during the final processing. The rack is especially practical, since it can actually hang on the edge of the pot. The rack is light weight, and therefore does not add any noticeable weight when lowering and lifting the filled jars. It would be most advantageous to have and use a pot filler, for adding water to the pot. 

I have thus far made some sweet picked watermelon rinds and some garlic pickled asparagus. Within the next two days, I plan to make spicy pickled vegetable medley. Later in the year, I will begin to preserve other than pickled food items.

Easy to use!

The size of this McSunley 21.5 qt. stainless steel canner will absolutely shock and amaze you! I commented that we could always use it as a second bathtub if needed! This thing can hold massive quantities of food. It is a heavy-duty cooker, but not so heavy (when empty) that you struggle to life it. Just as the instructions indicate, it will be heavy when full--so caution and care are essential. The canner is designed to be used on all types of cooktop surfaces including gas, electric coil, and smooth top ranges. It will hold (7) one-quart jars, (9) one-pint jars, and (12) half-pint jars. Included with the canner is a rack for loading the jars easily and lowering into the canner. This will keep the jars elevated in the pot to allow water circulation throughout the cooking process and for ease in removing the jars. I enjoy all aspects of being a homemaker, including canning and freezing those wonderful summer veggies for winter consumption. This pot will be instrumental in preparing HUGE amounts of green beans, peas, tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes, and squash—my personal favourite. I love to make jelly and jam as gifts for my family and friends. This water bath canner is a dream and I highly recommend it.

Perfect for new and experienced canners

This is a very nice canner. I love the glass lid to see if it's boiling without opening it. Because it's stainless steel it won't rust like the black ones. It's very good quality, and it only cost a little more than black enamel canner. I plan to use it for years to come.

Made to last

I used this huge stainless steel canning pot over the weekend, and it worked great! Its really large and could easily hold 8-10 quart jars. Love my new canning pot with lid

Great pot and lid for canning!

Nice heavy bottom to the pot and the rack is solid. Used this to can over 3 dozen quarts and it held up like it should. Well worth spending just a little bit more to get a quality pot that will last a very long time.

This canning pot and lid are very good quality. The pot makes a big container for mixing and cooking large quantities of food, in addition to canning.

The pot appears to be well constructed, heavy duty and made in India. I personally like the idea of the glass cover, so you can see when the water starts boiling for the canning process

This water bath canner is heavy. When the water is added it is very heavy.  The lift rack has slipped off  several times which is annoying.
I have used it several times. I do like the stainless steel and the see-through lid.

Looks great when you get it, but using it only 1 time, the bottom is all pitted indicating poor construction and materials.  This is not stainless steel.  If it was good quality, it would never have pitted the way it has.  Using it the 3rd time, bottom is not only pitted but discolored.
