[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids LOVE this playset! They both (boy and girl) are familiar with Rusty Rivet so when they saw it they were so excited! It's a great little set that holds tons for them to do and they get so creative playing with it! My only complaint is that it's annoying to close. You have to make sure certain toys are not in the way of the fold down level otherwise it won't close properly. I feel like it should have been maybe a tad bit wider so whatever placement the items included can be anywhere still close fine. Still, my kids have so much fun with it and I'm happy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy brought so much excitement to my 6 year old son's day. The packaging was great, and easy to get into. This particular set comes without the decals/stickers attached, and there are other pieces of the set that need to be attached or put together after opening. I will say as a parent, the instructions weren't super easy to follow, diagrams and no written words, so I ended up using the photo on the front of the box to determine where the stickers went to decorate the play set. The instructions are really the only drawback to this item for me though, and that's something that my son obviously didn't find a problem with, since I was applying the decals. He was able to put together the robot (included) and several other add on pieces that come with the set without the instructions. Once it's all put together, this playset forms a tool box that can close up with all of the attachments in tact, which is great so that none of the pieces get lost. When you open the box, it folds both up (the lid) and out (like barn doors kind of) to create a pretty big set. My son gives this toy a 10 out of 10, he enjoyed the lights and sounds (which weren't too overwhelming for me as a parent), and he really enjoys taking the robot apart and putting him back together in different ways. This has kept his attention for a few days now, and he seems to be coming up with new imaginative ways to play with it.

Super fun playset!

The lab comes with its own Rusty figurine and the lab itself folds up into a nice neat box that everything can be stored in. The set comes with plenty of parts that she can put together and mix and match. 

The quality of this set is really nice. It comes with thick stickers to help decorate the lab and buttons she can push that make noise and light up. All in all this is going to be a toy that brings her hours of fun.

My Daughter Loves this Playset!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My three boys (6, 3 and 3) were all beyond excited to open this toy!  I didn't realize it was based on a TV show, but they knew right away!  The 6 year old helped me assemble it and there were some confusing portions since the pieces can be assembled in various spots.  He and I didn't realize until reading the fine print that the car wasn't included.  We have plenty of cars, so we quickly found one that is closely compatible for the lift function.  It has kept all their attention for short bursts of time.  I can't see it being something they play with alone, but they have integrated other toys into its play time.  It's also pretty cool that it fold together to be taken on the go!  They all loved that too!

Fun playset

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids (4 year old boy & almost 2year old girl) have had so much fun with this set. They both enjoy watching the show, but it's not their favorite so I wasn't sure they'd love playing with the set, but they do. My son especially loves building different creations with the interchangeable pieces. My daughter loved moving the Rusty figure throughout the set. She especially loved putting him on the elevator and sending him though the doors. She even liked using other figures from different sets in the lab. 

Overall, we really like this set. My kids have spent time playing with it every day since we got it. 

I only gave it 4 stars is because of two reasons. They are that the lab can be difficult to close (even for an adult) and the extra pieces don't fit in when it's all closed up. 

My son was disappointed that the car pictured on the box was not included. He still has a lot of fun with it, though.

My kids really like this play set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we first saw the Rivet Lab Playset in the box, we weren't sure what the toy would actually do. Judging from the box and the name, it looked like it was something kids would put together, but it wasn't then clear what else it might do, or what you could make with it.

My five-year-old daughter helped me open the box and started playing with the Rivet Lab. Since there had been a picture of the girl on the box, my daughter was VERY disappointed to find only Rusty, the boy figurine, inside. But she got over it once I told her we could maybe purchase the girl later, and once she started putting the Lab together. Her favorite thing to discover was the button that plays some sounds and lights up. "This is amazing!" she said. She also really likes that the toy can fold up and be carried around.

This is one of those toys that kids can play with in different ways by using their imagination. Though it comes with a diagram of instructions on how to put it together, kids don't have to stick with that diagram. The various pieces (like the chair, crane, the robot parts, and Rusty himself) can be moved around and firmly placed in any of the pegs on the toy. It isn't hard for my five-year-old to use these pegs- it's just right for her fine motor skills now- but I do think a three-year-old might have difficulty with them.

I should note that neither my daughter nor I were familiar with the Rusty Rivets TV show. That's ok, because I want her to use her imagination and play however she wants with her toys. But I guess we are used to most toys having a back story. Now that we've played with the toy, we are curious about the show, and might try to watch it.

All in all, I recommend the Rusty Rivets Rivet Lab Playset.

Many Ways to Play with the Rivet Lab

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rusty Rivets Lab Playset is a toy system that closes with everything inside as well as portable for easy storage.  It includes a Rusty figure, pieces to create a riding car robot, and other pieces with lights and sounds.  

I loved this idea for my 3-year old who loves to build and take apart things!  He was so excited when it was delivered so he immediately tore open the box to start playing.  He used the box for about 30 minutes initially to look at to get an idea of what he will do with all the pieces.  After 30 minutes he wanted me to put the box away. I could tell he wanted to figure it out on his own.  He played that afternoon for a good 3 hours with it. Even his 8-year old sister joined in and they were quietly playing together with it.  The next few days he played with it for about a total of 2 hours each day.  Then by the 4th day, it was a matter of minutes.  Now, a couple of weeks later, neither of my kids play with it.  

I think in order to make this play set entertaining long-term for kids, it has to include more pieces in one set.  I also think a booklet with color pictures to give the kids new ideas on what to create would be helpful.  This might have extended the interest level in the toy system.   I still have it out, open and visible in my living room so that my son can play with it at any time.  He doesn't though.  I guess we'll have to ask Santa for one of the other Rivet Lab Play sets to add on to this one.  I really believe with more pieces, he'd be entertained for a longer period of time with this play set.

Fun in the beginning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rusty Rivet Lab Play set is good for children 5+ not their advertised age beginning at 3. I gave it only 3 stars  because it takes an adult to set up and the play-set (I received) had some dings. I do like the fact that it comes with Rusty Rivets-himself and one of his robots that your child will have to build. My son thus far has created at least 3 different types of robots on his own-which is not something it states you do. I also like how you can take it with you on the go-but! yes, but. You will have to help your child close it. And no, you cannot place all the characters inside the folding,travel play-set as it will not close all the way. Overall it makes for a good toy. But the makers should really think on perhaps redesigning it just a bit to make it easier to close and so the child can set it up himself.

Creative Play-set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids really enjoy building toys and so I was excited about this building themed play set. Unfortunately, there was not all that much building involved. The house needs to be assembled, but most of that needed to be done by parents. They are enjoying playing with the figure and house, but we have a lot of similar toys so I was a little disappointed that this didn't have more to it.

Not quite what I was expecting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rivet Lab Playset - Rusty Rivets is a cool idea with fantastic packaging, but not as appealing for the kids as I had hoped. The packaging was eye catching and looked fun. The assembly was more difficult that I thought it should be, but the stickers were fantastic! I have seen too many toys ruined by stickers that have ripped because they were too flimsy, or applied and misaligned because they were too difficult to handle. These were not like that... the stickers were thicker and made placement very easy. Once we started playing the kids seemed to be interested, my 8.5 year old lost interest quickly and my 3.5 year old did after about 20 minutes. I have left it out in the living room, but no one has gone back to play with it. It disappointed me because it looked like such a promising toy. I think it may be the difficulty in maneuvering the parts and the unclear concept on what to do with it. I also think my 3.5 year old was too young. One positive was how it closes up for travel! I think it is a great idea, as long as a few modifications were made or accessories added.
