[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We finally got the self-watering beds assembled and installed on our rooftop deck. We could not be happier with them - they look so beautiful! The solar lights are the icing on the cake! Looking forward to watching our veggies grow!

Vego Garden

I have been looking for sekf watering trays to fit in my 4x8 beds. I had gone with a different brand but the square trays didn't fit very well in the 4x8 raised bed due to the curved ends. I tried 2 of the 2x8 vego self watering trays and they are a much better fit. My only suggestion would be to offer additional connectors to cover entire area … each 2x8 came with 6 connectors (12) but need a total of 14 to close up entire area in a 4x8 bed. Still a much better solution than the square trays I was using from another company. We have limited water resources on the land that our raised beds are located so capturing and retaining rain water was pretty important part of our garden design. I think this is going to be a big help keeping our plants from drying out.

Water conservation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in a dry climate @ 8000 ft altitude so I felt to make the most out of water use the watering cells were a perfect idea. We have 3 kids size watering beds and fit 1 cell in each bed. Filled the sides with mulch to help maintain the moisture is the beds. Wanted to get it right the first time for long term installing these new planter beds. Photo is an extra watering cell we have the other is already buried underneath the soil.

Looking forward to using these in our new vego garden bed this summer!

This simple system looks as though it's going to work. Have not had a chance to test it yet.

Simple to set up

Very high quality - we

Easy to install. Had one issue it was installing the last piece and it felt a bit loose with a slight gap. I checked my raised bed to make sure everything was in line with the bolts and tighten everything down. I reinstall them and still had a small gap. I ended up laying them out in the sun to bake a bit to see if they would expand a bit. I reinstalled them and it closed the gap a bit but not much. Not really noticeable. I gave it 4/5 stars due to the fitment. Still a awesome product.

Self Watering Wicking Cell

The instructions for building the bed do not say to leave a row of screws off to insert the liner, so we ended up taking off screws which scratched the bed. 

Similarly, once we had this in place we could no longer add the trellis. 

There's a lot of appeal to how modular this system is but the instructions from one module don't cue you that you need to add another module at specific times.

Poor assembly instructions

This is a great product. I have used them before. I wanted to add to my vego garden bed so ordered two more. I didn't realize that they didn't come with the corners. I'm not sure how to add them now without the connectors to keep the gophers out. Not helpful.

What? Where are the corners?

I ordered and paid for 4 sets of this item. All I received was 4 of the wicking corner inserts. Missing are 4 additional wicking corner inserts, 8 pans and 8 pan inserts. The chat person was not very helpful, and said she would process the refund, but I did not request a refund. I requested that the driver look around on the truck or at the hub, and find my missing packages! To no avail. Apparently, no one will go LOOK for my boxes, that I paid for! Extremely unhappy with this situation and lack of assistance.
